Power fully restored in Sacramento five days after intense winds

(FOX40.COM) — At one point during last week’s storm, over 200,000 residents of Sacramento were without power, but according to Sacramento’s Municipal Utility District (SMUD), all power has officially been restored.

“It’s been a long five days, but we’re happy to say that all the outages from Sunday’s storm have been restored,” SMUD said on Friday.

Over 150 mph gusts recorded at Lake Tahoe area ski resorts

Before the storm, the National Weather Service of Sacramento (NWS) issued a severe high wind warning for the entire Sacramento Valley. According to NWS’s Wind Threat Description, high wind conditions range from 40-57 mph. These conditions are usually followed by broken tree branches and power outages.
