(FOX40.COM) — With a second round of rain and wind looming over the Sacramento region, the city announced that it will open its weather respite center for an extended period.
On Friday, the Outreach and Engagement Center (OEC) will begin providing weather respite from 5 p.m. until noon the following Wednesday.
The Outreach and Engagement Center is located at 3615 Auburn Blvd.
“Walk-ups will be accepted, with the OEC able to accommodate up to 50 guests as part of its weather-respite activation. The center has storage available for personal belongings if needed and will accept pets,” the city said .
Three storms are forecasted for Sacramento
The city said it will monitor NWS’s forecast and extend weather respite operations as needed.
For Sacramento County, a weather respite center will open at the Warren E Thornton Youth Center, located at 4000 Branch Center Road. The hours will be the same as the OEC.
SacRT will provide free rides to and from the Outreach and Engagement Center and Warren E Thornton Youth Center. To ride for free, riders must show a screenshot or printout of this flyer and show it to the bus operator.
