$5,000 offered for information in Northern California shooting that left child in critical condition

(FOX40.COM) — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives recently announced that it is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest regarding a shooting in Sacramento that left an 8-year-old in critical condition.

The Sacramento Police Department added that it has partnered with the ATF in hopes of identifying a suspect in the shooting that took place on July 2 on Kit Carson Street, about half a mile west of the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery in the Upper Land Park area.

When Sacramento police officers arrived at the scene, they said they found the child, an 8-year-old girl, with at least one gunshot wound and immediately had her taken to a local hospital.

At the time, police said the girl was alert and talking as she was being taken to the hospital.

In a recent update, police said the 8-year-old has made progress in her recovery, but still “has a long road ahead.” Police added that they are unaware if any of the damage done by the shooting will be long-term.
