(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento County Coroner’s office confirmed the cause of death for a woman found dead in a South Sacramento Kaiser Permanente Hospital parking garage in July 2023.

The coroner’s office said 39-year-old Jamie Reed died of probable sudden cardiac death due to hypertensive cardiovascular disease.

A month after Reed’s death, family and friends of the deceased mother of six called for police to release more information.

“We deserve to know what happened to her. We deserve to know and to hear from the police department,” said Reed’s sister Juanita Matlock at a vigil on August 17, 2023.

At the time the police said the hospital employee’s death was still under investigation and the coroner’s office had listed her cause of death as unknown.
