SUV rips ATM from Bank of America in Sacramento County

(FOX40.COM) — Two brothers robbed a bank in the Gold River area on Sunday by tearing an ATM from a Bank of America with a truck, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Juan Rincon, 36, and Jose Rincon, 38, allegedly attached hooks and chains to the ATM and used a black Ford SUV to pull the ATM from its housing.

Law enforcement received a burglary alarm around 4 a.m. from the Bank of America near Gold Country Boulevard and Coloma Road.

The black SUV was spotted by deputies already in the area as it was driving through a grass field with its lights off.

As deputies attempted to stop the vehicle the two brothers sped away in the SUV and led law enforcement on a short pursuit before they hit a raised curb and disabled the vehicle.

Deputies apprehended the brothers after they attempted to flee on foot.

The brothers were taken to the Sacramento County jail where Juan was set with a $50,000 bail and Jose with a $10,000 bail.
