Sacramento crews battle multiple apartment fires near Arden-Arcade

(FOX40.COM) — Several firefighters were needed to extinguish flames that spread to multiple housing units near Arden-Arcade Saturday morning, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Around 11:41 a.m., Metro Fire and the Sacramento Fire Department responded to an area of Gannon Drive and Hurley Way for a fire that started outside and spread to apartments complexes, condos, and balconies. The flames took several hours to extinguish.

Firefighters said three units sustained extensive damage. All occupants were able to escape the fire without injury, however, eight people have been displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
