Woman critical after vehicle strikes pedestrians on south Sacramento sidewalk: Police

A woman suffered life-threatening injuries Saturday after a vehicle slammed into her and a man on a sidewalk in south, police said.

Officers were called just after 11 a.m. to Stockton Boulevard and McMahon Drive after a driver hit two pedestrians, said Officer Allison Smith, a spokeswoman for the Sacramento Police Department.

The driver stayed on scene as officers investigated, Allison said.

The woman was in critical condition, while the man suffered non-life threatening injuries, Allison said.

The investigation is ongoing.
