Northern California police arrest two suspects connected to retail, identity theft

(FOX40.COM) — Two suspects were arrested in connection to multiple retail and identity thefts throughout Northern California, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.

On Dec. 12, CHPD Officers responded to a shoplifting call at HomeGoods located at 6130 Birdcage Centre Lane. The suspects fled in a Jeep and were being followed by Loss Prevention. Officers said they located the vehicle and detained two theft suspects.

A search of the vehicle uncovered stolen property, along with ID cards linked to potential identity theft victims, according to CHPD .

Officers said they learned the two suspects were tied to multiple felony thefts in Rio Vista, Fremont, and Natomas.

The suspects are also accused of committing return fraud using stolen IDs, resulting in an estimated $5,000 loss and thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise.

Both suspects were arrested for alleged organized retail theft, conspiracy to commit theft, identity theft, possession of stolen property, and burglary.
