Man barricaded with knife in Sacramento hotel

(FOX40.COM) — Police are responding to a barricaded man inside a Sacramento hotel on Monday morning, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The incident began when the man, a guest at the hotel, returned around 1 a.m. and allegedly threatened a security guard with a knife.

When officers responded to the hotel on the 100 block of Capitol Mall, the man is said to have then threatened officers with a knife before barricading himself in a second-floor room.

Police have made contact with the man and continue to negotiate with him. No injuries have been reported.

As a precaution, the second floor of the hotel has been evacuated, but the remainder of the hotel is operating as usual.
