(FOX40.COM) — A Sacramento-area restauranteur is permanently closing an acclaimed restaurant and temporarily closing his Elk Grove barbeque spot both on Jan. 1, according to the restaurant’s social media accounts.
The Michelin Guide described Michael Hargis’s Beast + Bounty’s food as “[i]ncredibly fresh, creative California fare” and particularly recommended its “pickled fritto misto, a crispy tempura mix of rotating, seasonal vegetables.”
“When we opened in 2017, it was with the dream of bringing Michelin-caliber quality to a neighborhood restaurant,” reads the Dec. 28 post on Beast + Bounty’s Instagram page announcing their closure. “We poured our hearts, souls, and resources into this endeavor. The response from the Sacramento community has been nothing short of extraordinary, culminating in our inclusion in the Michelin Guide—a recognition we’ll always cherish.”
In the post, restaurant operators said that despite negotiations they had come to an “amicable agreement” with Heller Pacific which developed the Ice Blocks buildings, where Beast + Bounty is located.
