(FOX40.COM) — Roza Saad from Sacramento participated in the Rose Parade float to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.
Saad was a 12 years girl when she was diagnosed with severe pulmonary hypertension, which is a condition, that if left untreated, can have a huge impact.

According to the press release by Stanford Medicine, Saad’s only hope was a rare heart-lung transplant at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health where a donor with the right match was found.
“I’m here today because of my donor…I would’ve never thought I would be here four years ago in the hospital, so this is very touching for me,” Saad said.
Saad, who is now 17, joined the parade to honor her donor and to help with her goal of providing hope to other patients who are waiting for a lifesaving transplant. She is also currently a freshman studying computer science.
