‘It’s been amazing’: South Sacramento family turns landscaping business into family legacy

( FOX40.COM ) — Local South Sacramento resident Jose Ramirez started a small business in 2005 in hopes of having his son Sabas Ramirez join the team.

Sabas joined his dad officially about a year or two ago after he got his contractor license which helped the business expand more.

“I have been helping my dad ever since I was in high school and it’s been amazing,” Sabas said.

Xi Landscaping has been in the Ramirez family for about 20 years now serving the Greater Sacramento area from landscaping construction to just maintenance.

Sabas told FOX40.com that the business name is a representation of his parents and nine siblings in Roman Numerals.

FOX40.com asked Sabas why he decided to join his dad and he said because of the opportunities that he would gain for future use.

Sabas said, “I decided to go into business with my dad because it is an opportunity to be a business owner at such a young age, and it helps me get the experience of running a business and then manage multiple businesses when I am older.”
