South Sacramento taco stand employee tackles armed robber

(FOX40.COM) — Employees from a taco stand in South Sacramento are speaking out after encountering face-to-face with an armed robber on Friday night.

Tacos La Guadalupana has been setting up shop on Fruitridge Road for the past five years.

Sandra Sanchez, one of the employees, said to FOX40.com that he took out the gun, pointed it at his face, and said where’s the money.

Sacramento County Sheriff Spokesperson Sergeant Amar Gandhi said, “Employees of that taco stand were robbed at gunpoint, actually chased the robber down, tackled them, held him down, were able to wave down somebody from SAC PD who contacted us.”

The employees took down the suspect, who is 21-year-old Brandon McGrath, and waited until the police arrived at the scene.

According to Sacramento Police, crews responded to the call around 9:30 p.m. When they arrived, they arrested the suspect and seized an unserialized firearm.

SGT. Gandhi said, We don’t really get a lot of these robberies. Some of them, unfortunately, go unreported.”
