Over the recent weeks, some neighborhoods and members of our community in our city have been subject to terrorizing attacks by our youth. Teens riding electric bikes, formed in groups of four to 14, have been riding recklessly on city streets, causing vehicles to avoid them as they “pull wheelies” and drive their bikes in and out of moving traffic. Even more disturbing, some of these riders have targeted our neighbors by pounding with their fists on front doors and garage doors, kicking in security doors and garage door panels, and shouting out threats and sexual epithets.
