About two feet of snow fell within 24 hours in parts of California’s Sierra Nevada Range this week, creating a rapid uptick in avalanche risk. Unfortunately, some of that risk ended up impacting winter slopesport enthusiasts at a popular resort.
According to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle, multiple guests were caught in in-bounds avalanches that took place at Palisades Tahoe on Thursday.
