One-third of woman’s body burned after NorCal woman allegedly set her ablaze

A Northern California woman was arrested on suspicion of setting another woman on fire after an argument, officials said.

The altercation happened on April 26 in Sacramento County’s Fruitridge Pocket in the area of 17th Avenue and Stockton Boulevard, about 3.5 miles from Sacramento State University, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

According to surveillance video and witness statements, a 34-year-old woman drove up to a 49-year-old unhoused woman, who was set up to sleep for the night in the area, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.
