Elk Grove man shot by police at In-N-Out says he’s now paralyzed

ELK GROVE, Calif. — A man who was shot by Elk Grove police outside an In-N-Out restaurant earlier this year is speaking out from his hospital bed, saying the incident left him paralyzed.

Jerry Tolliver Jr., 50, was shot by police on April 11 after officers responded to reports of a man brandishing a gun and acting erratically inside the In-N-Out on Bond Road. Elk Grove police say when they approached Tolliver, he took off running toward a busy parking lot and drive-thru, holding a gun, when a police officer shot him.

Tolliver said he doesn’t recall many details from that night but denied trying to hurt anyone…
