The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has announced their participation in the 2025 Police Unity Tour, a grueling 300-mile bicycle ride which serves to honor law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty. As posted on the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, the ride is part of National Police Week and aims to support the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum.
In this year’s event, the Sacramento officers joined over 2,000 law enforcement agents from across the nation, during which they managed to raise more than $2.2 million for the cause, a testament to the broad support and commitment within the law enforcement community to commemorate their colleagues. The team from Sacramento included roughly two dozen riders and support staff, and among them were three family members of officers from the department who have paid the ultimate price for their service.
“We ride to remember our fallen coworkers, whose memory continues to guide and inspire us,” the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office stated, affirming their commitment to never forget the sacrifices made.
