Sacramento Police Chase Ends in Fatal Collision; Daniel Cunningham Arrested for Multiple Charges

A bout of domestic turmoil has escalated into a chase and fatal collision in Sacramento, according to recent disclosures by the local police department. On June 1, Daniel Cunningham, 33, was implicated in a domestic violence incident on Farm Dale Way. When police arrived that day, he had already absconded. Fast forward to Saturday, the same address saw police presence again. This time for a civil standby requested by the victim, as she hoped to safely retrieve her belongings, according to the Sacramento Police Department facebook post.

In a press release from the Sacramento Police Department, officers on the scene were informed Cunningham, a parolee with an outstanding felony warrant, was spotted in a nearby vehicle. Their attempt to apprehend him led to a short pursuit, ending in a multi-vehicle crash at Florin Road and Greenhaven Drive. It was reported that Cunningham tried to flee the scene on foot but was detained with the assistance of a police K-9.
