Folsom Police investigating homicide outside local bar

Folsom police are investigating the death of a 63-year-old man following a reported incident near a bar in the city’s Historic District on Saturday afternoon.

Folsom Times confirmed with Folsom Police that units were dispatched around 3:40 p.m. to the 700 block of Gold Lake Drive, home to Folsom State Slickers, for what was initially reported as a medical emergency, according to the Folsom Police Department. The man was later identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as James Douglas Caddy, a resident of Fair Oaks.

While police have not released details about what preceded the emergency, the case has since been classified as a homicide, and detectives are now handling it as a criminal investigation.
