CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA — “At approximately 9:24 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, Citrus Heights Police officers responded to the 6500 block of Thalia Way regarding a report of an adult male who had been shot multiple times in front of a residence.
Officers arrived on scene and located the adult male lying on the ground with injuries consistent with the initial report. Officers moved the victim away from the residence in an effort to render life-saving aid. Despite these efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased by Sacramento Metro Fire personnel. Personnel from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and the Folsom Police Department assisted in a thorough search of the surrounding area in an attempt to locate the suspect. Citrus Heights Police Detectives are actively reviewing evidence and conducting interviews. Two residences were searched, and investigators collected evidence from the locations.
A suspect in this case has been identified as Victor Bubliyenko, a 55-year-old male from Citrus Heights. Preliminary information suggests that Bubliyenko and the victim were known to each other. The victim’s identity is being withheld and will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of his next of kin.
