Serna announces $50k in emergency legal services funding after border patrol arrests

(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento County Board of Supervisors Chair Phil Serna has announced $50,000 to expand emergency immigration legal services across the county.

Serna is allocating $50,000 from Sacramento County’s District 1 transient occupancy tax for Sacramento’s FUEL Network. The FUEL Network is a coalition of approximately 80 nonprofits that support the local immigrant community in the area.

“I found it disgusting… like many, like thousands of Californians do,” he said. “We need to really… put up and show them we value them by… providing them the resources they deserve.”
