Tentative agreement reached by workers of Albertsons, Safeway, and Vons, historic strike of 25,000 employees averted

ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Grocery workers from Albertsons, Safeway, and Vons have reached a tentative agreement, averting a significant strike.

The union representing the workers says the new deal promises economic security and improved benefits for 25,000 workers.

“This agreement is the result of our members standing strong together,” said UFCW 8-Golden State President Jacques Loveall. “Because of their unity and determination, this new agreement will bring them the respect and dignity they deserve.”…
