RANCHO CORDOVA—A man impersonating a delivery worker to steal packages and mail has been arrested following a coordinated investigation by the Rancho Cordova Police Department and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
The case began when RCPD patrol officers received a call reporting a male suspect wearing a FedEx shirt breaking into a U.S. Postal Service vehicle and stealing several packages, mail items, and personal belongings of a postal carrier.
Using investigative tools, authorities obtained a photo of the suspect and his vehicle, which led to a rapid response from RCPD’s Problem Oriented Policing (POP) team.
Working closely with federal postal inspectors, officers tracked the suspect to a motel in Sacramento. When contacted in his motel room, the man was found to be on active Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS), a form of parole, and had two outstanding felony warrants for identity theft along with an additional warrant for burglary from another county…
