West Sacramento DUI Suspect Arrested After Collision Leads to Discovery of Loaded Ghost Gun

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA — “Last night (July 26th), West Sacramento Police Department officers responded to an injury traffic collision involving reports that one of the drivers may have been armed.

Upon arrival, officers determined the at fault driver to be under the influence and placed the individual under arrest. A search revealed a 10-round magazine with a 5.56 caliber round. While no firearm was located in the vehicle, officers conducted a search of the surrounding area and found a black backpack hidden in nearby bushes. Inside the backpack was a loaded ghost gun AR-style pistol (5.56 caliber) with a 30-round magazine and one round chambered.

Using Fusus camera footage, officers were able to confirm that the suspect had exited the vehicle and discarded the backpack into the bushes following the collision. The suspect was transported and booked into Yolo County Jail on multiple charges, including DUI and weapons violations…
