San Francisco-born grocery chain to close 36-year-old store in NorCal

After 36 years of selling discounted products, a Grocery Outlet store in Sacramento County is closing for good.

A Facebook post on Sunday announced the permanent closure of Grocery Outlet at 2801 Zinfandel Drive in Rancho Cordova, which first opened in 1989. A spokesperson for the chain confirmed the closure to SFGATE, sharing that the store’s lease was ending, but did not share a specific closure date.

“We are saddened to announce that the Rancho Cordova Grocery Outlet in the corner of Zinfandel and Folsom Blvd will be closing permanently,” the Facebook post read. “… We, along with our team, will deeply miss our customers.”…
