36-year-old man dies in crash with Hwy. 160 guardrail alongside Sacramento River

A 36-year-old man died Sunday night after crashing his car into a guardrail on Highway 160 in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man was driving north on the levee roadway toward West Brannan Island Road when he crossed into the southbound lane and struck a guardrail on the edge of the road around 11:10 p.m., the CHP’s South Sacramento office said in a news release. He was “ejected from the vehicle” and pronounced dead on the scene, the CHP said.
