WOODLAND, Calif. — A 71-year-old man accused in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed two 17-year-old girls in West Sacramento has been denied bail, after admitting to drinking vodka before driving, according to the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office.
David Alison Walker appeared in a Woodland courtroom Wednesday, where a judge ruled him a flight risk and a danger to society. Walker faces seven felony charges and one misdemeanor related to the crash that killed Layla Chrissa Clemons and Jaea Chatman.
In court, prosecutors stated that Walker admitted to consuming six to eight ounces of vodka before driving from Fair Oaks through Sacramento County into Yolo County on Saturday night.
