An armed robbery suspect was apprehended by Elk Grove Police after a vehicle pursuit that led to a brief shutdown of a Sacramento area high school. The incident began shortly after noon yesterday when an employee at a recycling center located near Bond Road and Elk Grove Florin Road was reportedly robbed at gunpoint. In a post shared on their official Facebook page, the Elk Grove Police Department detailed the sequence of events leading to the suspect’s arrest.
After the report of the robbery, officers quickly located the suspect’s vehicle and initiated pursuit as the individual drove westbound on Bond Road. Despite temporarily losing sight of the pickup truck, officers were able to eventually locate it parked and abandoned. The search quickly intensified as law enforcement personnel scoured the surrounding vicinity. According to the Elk Grove Police Department’s social media post, Sacramento Charter High School was placed on a precautionary lockdown while officers worked to safely apprehend the suspect.
