SACRAMENTO, Calif. – After a comfortable weekend, Sacramento is on track for a sharp heat-up this week, with temperatures surging into the triple digits by Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, Sacramento will climb from the mid-80s Monday to the upper 80s Tuesday before hitting 95 degrees Wednesday. The peak arrives Thursday, when the valley is expected to reach 100°F, the first triple-digit reading in weeks.

Daytime heat will build under clear skies, while overnight lows remain in the upper 50s to mid-60s, offering little relief.
