From Wednesday through Sunday, all dogs and puppies at the shelter and in foster care are available for adoption to help alleviate overcrowding.

“We are completely out of space,” shelter manager Phillip Zimmerman said. “As the City of Sacramento’s open admission shelter, we take in new dogs every day, and we are over capacity. We need the community’s help to open their homes so we can continue our lifesaving work.”
A spokesperson with the City of Sacramento said hundreds of dogs of all ages, sizes and personalities are available.
Adoption counselors are on-site from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. to guide families step by step through the adoption process. Fostering pets is also an option for those who are unable to commit to adopting a pet…
