(KRON) — The California Highway Patrol seized nearly 160 pounds of methamphetamine and a handgun during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 in the Stockton area on Aug. 21, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP pulled over a 34-year-old man from Sacramento around 7:05 p.m. During the traffic stop, CHP K9 “Nico” tipped officers off to the hefty drug bust.
“Thanks to the keen instincts of K9 Nico and the quick actions of our officers, another major threat was taken off the road,” CHP Valley Division wrote on social media. “The California Highway Patrol remains committed to keeping dangerous drugs and weapons out of our communities.”
