SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — A child sexual assault case from 1997 in Sacramento County has been reopened after the suspect came forward with new information, authorities said.
Detectives said a mother initially reported the assault of her 3-year-old daughter at a family gathering nearly three decades ago, but the case went inactive due to a lack of corroboration at the time.
