SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CN) — A man who was wrongfully imprisoned for almost two decades has agreed to settle his federal lawsuit against Sacramento County and others whose actions he said led to his incarceration on murder and robbery charges.
In 2022, Jeremy Puckett sued Sacramento County, its sheriff’s department, district attorney’s office and a handful of individuals for “reckless and intentional misconduct.”
The terms of the settlement weren’t immediately available. U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremy Peterson on Wednesday ordered the parties to complete the final settlement agreement in two weeks…
