Sacramento Kidnapping Foiled: Two Men Arrested After Dramatic Break-In and Chase

In an event that wrested tranquility from an otherwise ordinary Sacramento apartment complex, authorities have apprehended two men following a turbulent break-in and subsequent kidnapping. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office reported that this incident unfolded yesterday on Howe Avenue when at approximately 4 PM, deputies responded to a 911 call concerning a burglary and a woman reportedly being dragged into a vehicle.

The scenario, chaotic in nature, drew the rapid convergence of law enforcement to the area—ductile, swift and precise action was needed, and as deputies arrived, they glimpsed a black sedan that matched the call description, a sedan carrying not just the driver but in the backseat a male figure beside a female, both adding to the urgency of the moment. The vehicle, observed by the deputies, paused its flight at a gas station, and the law surmised its chance, detaining 33-year-old Andrew Afoa and 42-year-old Thomas Abila without reported incident, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office notes.
