Sacramento Faces Labor Day Scorcher as Temperatures Soar Into Triple Digits

Sacramento is bracing for another stretch of dry heat as the National Weather Service predicts a series of sunny and hot days ahead. While many will be celebrating Labor Day with barbecues and outdoor activities, they should prepare for sweltering temperatures that are expected to hover around the triple digits. According to the NWS, today’s high will reach near 101 degrees, with similar scorching conditions continuing through the holiday.

Those planning evening events won’t be getting much reprieve from the heat, as nighttime lows are only expected to dip into the mid-60s. The NWS predicts, “Clear, with a low around 64,” offering only a modest reprieve after sundown. Residents seeking some comfort may find it in the calm winds, expected to shift southwest at around 6 mph in the evening.

Temperature persistence is the theme of the week. Following Labor Day’s anticipated peak of 102 degrees, the mercury will slightly drop but remain uncomfortably high. As per the NWS forecast, Tuesday through Thursday will see daytime temperatures range from 95 to 96 degrees.
