Sacramento, CA (September 13, 2025) – A deadly crash between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck shut down Interstate 5 North near Sutterville Road on Saturday morning, September 13.
The collision happened just after 7 a.m. when a semi-truck and a Toyota Tacoma collided. The pickup truck ignited on impact, trapping its driver inside. Tragically, the pickup driver died at the scene. The semi-trailer also caught fire, forcing authorities to close all northbound lanes at Fruitridge Road while firefighters battled the blaze.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed debris from the truck’s cargo scattered across the roadway, sparking at least two additional collisions, including one on southbound I-5 near 43rd Street. The extent of those injuries has not been released…
