Feds charge man in ABC Sacramento shooting, allege plans for more attacks

Federal prosecutors have charged a man in last week’s shooting at an ABC news station in Sacramento, alleging in court filings that he may have been preparing to carry out additional attacks against Republican leaders.

Federal officials charged Anibal Hernandez Santana, 64, in connection with the Sacramento TV station last week, revealing new details about the shooter’s motives in a federal complaint, according to filings in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.

The complaint says that Hernandez Santana first fired three shots in the direction of the ABC 10 station south of downtown Sacramento, then drove around the block to the front of the station and fired three more shots directly into the building’s lobby. Police said the building was occupied at the time, but no one was injured…
