Gas leak near school in Sacramento’s Oak Park neighborhood prompts early dismissal

Students at William Lee College Prep were sent home early Thursday after a gas leak was reported at a nearby construction site in Sacramento’s Central Oak Park neighborhood.

Contractors working on the 4600 block of 10th Avenue at Stockton Boulevard reported hearing a hissing sound coming from a 2-inch gas line, according to authorities. Fire crews responded to the scene shortly after 9 a.m.
