A retired California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer is in critical condition after a helicopter crash on a busy highway.

Pilot Chad Millward, who worked for CHP for nearly 30 years, was piloting a medical helicopter the evening of Monday, Oct. 6, when the helicopter crashed onto Highway 50 in Sacramento, per local news outlets KHOU 11, ABC 7 and The Sacramento Bee.
