Rocklin Police’s Late-Night Operation Using ALPR Leads to Arrest of Carmichael and Sacramento Suspects in Theft Spree

In a late-night bust turned key evidence discovery, Rocklin Police Department’s night shift officers registered a significant win against local crime. Thanks to the ALPR system, a piece of technology that reads license plates automatically, the night shift team was able to locate a vehicle suspected in a string of vehicle burglaries and credit card thefts. The announcement came directly from the department’s social media channel, where they credited the alertness and quick actions of the officers on duty.

The events unfolded early one morning when Rocklin PD’s Automated License Plate Reader alerted the officers to a car that had been marked in relation to several crimes. The rapid response led to the arrest of two individuals, named as 44-year-old Zachary King of Carmichael and 52-year-old Leah Wilson of Sacramento.

Digging further into the case, officers found more than just evidence linking the duo to the recent sprees of burglaries and thefts.
