Biannual update shows more residents connected to care and permanent housing
Sacramento County’s latest biannual report shows growing success in its efforts to connect unhoused residents with housing, shelter, and behavioral health services. The report, presented this week to the Board of Supervisors by the Departments of Homeless Services and Housing (DHSH) and Health Services, covers outreach from January through June 2025 across the unincorporated county and the American River Parkway.
This is the fourth update since the City and County of Sacramento formed a joint homelessness partnership in late 2023. County outreach teams — including parkway, encampment, and community-based staff — provided 31,355 services to 771 individuals and helped 203 transition out of unsheltered homelessness.
