City Shares Weekly Update on Homelessness Response and Shelter Availability for Local Residents

The City of Sacramento released its weekly report on homelessness efforts for October 13 to 19, 2025. During this time, the City’s Incident Management Team (IMT) received 626 calls to the 311 service about unsheltered individuals. These calls led to 2,260 cases being opened. One call can result in more than one case.

The ‘cases opened’ metric was introduced in July 2025 to improve transparency about the City’s response. City staff closed 2,584 cases during the week. This means the issues were resolved, the people involved followed requirements, or the situation no longer existed when checked.

Outreach teams enrolled 106 people in local databases to connect them with shelters and services. Ten people were placed at either the Roseville Road campus or the Outreach and Engagement Center (OEC)…
