Sacramento, CA – Retail Theft Ring Busted: $900K in Losses, Major Home Depot Fraud Uncovered

Sacramento, CA – A months-long investigation by the California Highway Patrol’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force (ORCTF) has uncovered a sophisticated theft and fraud ring linked to more than $900,000 in losses across California, authorities announced this week.

According to the California Highway Patrol Valley Division, the scheme targeted multiple Home Depot locations statewide. Working in partnership with the Sacramento Police Department and the Placer County District Attorney’s Office, investigators identified several individuals allegedly tied to the organized criminal enterprise.

Search warrants executed from Baldwin Park to Hayward resulted in the recovery of roughly $307,000 in stolen merchandise, $59,000 in cash, and 12 firearms. The recovered goods have since been returned to retailers, officials said…
