Assemblyman Josh Hoover (R-Folsom) has announced that Stuart McIntyre has been named the 2025 Veteran of the Year for California’s 7th Assembly District.
A true American hero, McIntyre’s remarkable story is one of courage, service, and lifelong patriotism. Born and raised in Walla Walla, Washington, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at just 16 years old, immediately following the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941. After completing his initial service, he reenlisted during the Korean War, later serving in Germany and dedicating a total of 28 years to the defense of his nation.
Now a beloved Fair Oaks resident, McIntyre celebrated his 100th birthday this past August at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6158, surrounded by family, friends, and community members.
