Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office wraps up gang suppression operation with 140 arrests, 86 weapons seized

(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office wrapped-up a large-scale effort to get drugs, weapons and criminals off our streets.

The county’s Gang Suppression Unit spent three days last week targeting violent criminal networks through what they call “Operation Street Sweeper.” The team said they aim to lead these major efforts every three to four months.

“People don’t like to use the word gangs and, well, they’re out here,” Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Sgt. Amar Gandhi said. “They exist and they’re causing all kinds of problems.”…
