Two men have been convicted of violent crimes connected to a robbery at an illegal gambling house in south Sacramento, wrapping up a case that spanned nearly eight years. John Edward Blount and Eddie Lee White faced a jury earlier this week and were found guilty of multiple counts of robbery and attempted robbery.
According to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, the incident which led to their convictions took place on January 22, 2018. Blount and White burst into a garage being used as an gambling den, brandishing firearms and demanding valuables from those present. The violent spree involved assailants throwing furniture and assaulting the occupants, leaving many in fear for their lives.
