Around 12:30 a.m., the Folsom Police Department responded to calls that a pickup truck had backed into a business in the 600 block of Sutter Street. The suspect, later identified as Zachary Pavan, 40, of Citrus Heights, fled the scene and was chased on foot by the business’s security guards, according to FPD.

Police said the security guards reportedly caught up to the Pavan, who turned his vehicle to run over the security guard, and then backed up to run him over again. He was taken to the hospital with major injuries. According to FPD, he is expected to survive.
