Someone in Sacramento just turned a routine lottery stop into a life-altering moment. A single ticket matched all five main numbers plus the Mega number last Saturday night’s SuperLotto Plus drawing, landing a $12 million jackpot that lottery officials say was bought at King Wine & Liquor on Fruitridge Road in south Sacramento. It is the latest big SuperLotto prize to land in Northern California this month and adds one more multimillion-dollar saga to the region.
According to the California Lottery, the winning numbers were 20, 21, 22, 32 and 43, with Mega number 12. The official breakdown for Saturday’s draw shows 78,308 winning tickets overall, with non-jackpot prizes ranging from $1 up to $27,007. Full draw results and prize-claim details are posted on the Lottery’s website.
The Sacramento Bee reports the jackpot-winning ticket was sold at King Wine & Liquor, 2346 Fruitridge Rd., and notes the SuperLotto Plus grand prize will reset to its starting annuity level of an estimated $7 million for the next drawing. The Bee also points out that the smaller cash-value option for a newly reset jackpot comes in at roughly $3.2 million and that plenty of lower-tier winners shared in Saturday’s haul.
How To Claim The Prize
Prizes of $600 or more must be claimed at a California Lottery district office or by mail, and winners have 180 days from the draw date to file a claim, according to the California Lottery. Jackpot winners can choose between a 30-year annuity payment plan or a smaller one-time cash payout. Lottery officials advise signing the back of the ticket, storing it in a safe place and contacting a district office before making any big moves to claim a major prize.
