A U.S. Marine killed in a training accident this week at Camp Pendleton in Southern California was identified Friday as a Solano County native.
Private First Class Tanner F. Rubio, 21, of Dixon died Wednesday in a “tactical vehicle mishap” at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendelton, according to a news release from 1st Marine Division.
Marine Corps officials said the tactical vehicle mishap occurred in training unrelated to Exercise Steel Knight 25, which involves more than 600 marines at bases in Southern California and Arizona. It’s the largest long-range raid exercise in 14 years…
